About
I’m Gem, a Bristol-based photographer capturing beautiful food, thoughtful interiors and the stories that bring them to life.
I’ve loved being behind a lens for as long as I can remember. As a youngster, I would regularly steal my mum’s camera, photographing everything from long exposures of trains to macro shots of bugs! I spent many hours in darkrooms throughout my college days and after continuing to use photography extensively during my Illustration degree, it quickly became clear that this was more than a hobby — it was a true passion. After graduating in 2008 with a keen artistic eye, I completed a photography diploma and have been snapping away ever since.
These days, my camera is most often pointed towards beautiful spaces, delicious food and the simple details that make a place feel special. I love capturing the warmth of a kitchen filled with light, the textures of a thoughtfully designed interior, or the quiet magic of a beautiful tablescape. Alongside food and interiors, I also create lifestyle and branding imagery that helps businesses share the personality, atmosphere and story behind what they do.
My style leans towards the natural and relaxed - whether it’s a carefully styled dish, a cosy café corner, a beautiful home or a brand wanting to show the people and passion behind their work, I aim to create photographs that make people feel something.
When I’m not photographing, you’ll probably find me exploring the countryside, enjoying good food and a glass of wine, or planning the next interior design project in my own home (I adore all things interiors!). I’m a big believer in the beauty of simple moments — good food, good spaces and good company!
Please have a browse of my work, and if you think we’d be a good fit, I’d love to hear from you!
